Second Letter to the Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia from FSD

To,                                                                                                                          Date:- 14.10.2011
Vice Chancellor
Jamia Millia Islamia
New Delhi-25.

Sub: About Student Union Issue.
Sir,
I am writing this letter with good faith in you to respond positively to my earlier letter on the issue. Meanwhile I was called by proctor office today where Mr. Proctor expressed his personal favorable opinion about the union election in the university however he cited many practical reasons which might not be founded. Since the issues is of serious concern and very much related with the ongoing youths aspiration for a better change, I am still expecting your wise intervention in the matter.
As I had already said that restoring students union in Jamia Millia Islamia is a very fundamental tool in order to engage our youths in the political process. Disappointment and frustration among students community is at high level particularly in Jamia Millia Islamia where students do not have access to their rights. Restoration of students union will be key step towards democratizing Jamia for students’ welfare besides serving our people and the society.
Sir, I request you again to intervene in the matter and fulfill your promise to restore students union in the university. Since I do not have any political aspirations, my cooperation will always be with the university. If disappointment mounts and students’ expectations are not met, it will not serve very objectives of this university in fullest.

Sincerely Yours
(Afroz Alam Sahil)
Convenor, Forum for Student Democracy.
